Zetske van Pletzen is a South African film, television and theatre actress. She was born, raised and schooled in Pretoria. Her love for the performing arts began when she started dancing at the age of four.  At school she excelled in sports and achieved national colours for athletics and cross country running. She matriculated in 2005 from Pro Arte Alphen Park with Drama as her study field. She was awarded best movement and drama student in 2004 & 2005. During her matric year she played in 14 episodes of the KykNet TV-series, Hart van Staal, opposite Robbie Wessels. She received her diplomas in Cechetti Ballet (Intermediate) and RAD (Elementary). After matriculating she played the romantic lead in another KykNet TV-series, Begeertes. In 2007 she worked as an English teacher and an au pair in France and was happy to return home, fluent in French.

 

Zetske played the role of Izel Landman in the drama series Kruispad, that was on KykNet.  In 2009, she played ‘Kara’ in the popular soap, Binnelanders. Zetske was happy to be a part of the stage production, Houtkruis - Die Musical performed at the State Theatre in 2009. She was also part of Dood van ‘n Verkoopsman (the Afrikaans translation of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman) which was performed in 2010. She played 'Maria-Elena Holly’ in BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story at the State Theatre. Until July 2013, Zetske was in 7de Laan, playing the sassy book-editor 'Marcel'. She is currently completing her BA degree at UNISA, majoring in Psychology and French. In 2013, she was seen on stage at the Joburg Theatre as vocalist and dancer in The Queen Experience with Joseph Clark.

 

In February 2015, Zetske will be seen on the big screen in the feature film Mooirivier.  In October, she will be seen in Deon Opperman's new drama series Bloedbroers, playing the role of Jacqueline Visser.

 

Zetske is actively involved in charity work and has raised funds for numerous charities. She is the Social, Media and Marketing Manager of the non-profit organisation Footprint Foundation. Zetske has her own clothing range, available at exclusive boutiques - click here for more info.
